Vince Carter's professional basketball career is off to a spectacular start – after his incredible first season with the Raptors, he was named NBA 1999 Rookie of the Year. It was a no-brainer, because Vince was the only rookie to lead his team in scoring. Vince's electrifying playing style combines acrobatics and showmanship, with dynamic drives and unique slam dunks bringing his fans to their feet. Vince easily won the NBA.com All-Star Slam Dunk contest earlier this year with a gravity-defying set of dunks that no one else could duplicate.

Yet as high as he can jump, Vince Carter's feet are planted firmly on the ground. He credits a solid family life when he was growing up with giving him the values he lives by. Vince enjoys encouraging kids to reach their potential, and since joining the Raptors he started a foundation to help kids called The Embassy Of Hope.
